Our community: NZ Cheap Cars

Servicing five dealerships nationwide, used vehicle importer NZ Cheap Cars needed the right location for their Auckland service and distribution centre. In December 2024, they joined Station205 as our newest tenant and they couldn’t be happier.

‘We import quality used cars from Japan, then take them through each stage of compliance and prepare them to the highest standards for sale at our branches,’ explains CEO Michael Yang. ‘For our distribution centre, we needed an easily accessible site of the right size, and Station205 fit the bill.’

 At the distribution centre, vehicles go through quality checks, minor fixes and a full grooming before being dispatched to dealerships around the country. That requires serious space, and their 2,000 sqm site delivers, with capacity for up to 90 vehicles at a time. They’ve also got two buildings on site, including a newly fitted-out office to house their team of 12.

 ‘It’s fantastic,’ says Michael. ‘The buildings and layout suit our operational needs perfectly.’

The ideal place to get things moving

Like other Station205 tenants with a distribution focus, NZ Cheap Cars have found the Penrose location ideal for servicing and transporting vehicles. With branches in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and Christchurch, motorway access is key.

‘Being right next to the motorway means we can get vehicles on the road quickly and efficiently,’ says Michael. ‘That was a big factor in choosing Station205.’

Being part of Station205 also means joining a supportive tenant community, with shared amenities, well-managed traffic flows, and responsive service from site manager Andrew.

‘He’s fantastic, really easy to approach,’ says Michael. ‘When I contact Andrew, he’s quick to respond and always follows up. It’s great knowing there’s someone reliable on the ground if we need anything.’
